Instructions and Tips:
Thank you for purchasing Cool Fence Cam! Here are some tips to make it work for you...
Dos and Don'ts:
1. (This is my #1 tip)... Start Early! Don't wait until the pitcher is warming up to get set up. I start as soon as the teams take the field and stretch. Starting early gives you time to make sure you have everything you need... and that everything is working. It gives you time to check the video on another device and make sure that it looks good. It also gives your viewers an earlier notification that the stream is starting.
2. No Phone Case. If you have a protective case on your phone, you may want to remove it. I have found that the Cool Fence Cam holder works best if the phone does not have a case on it.
3. Eye-Level Setup. Just hang the Cool Fence Cam at eye level to make sure your phone is adjusted correctly. It may take a few minutes to get your phone situated in the holder! I find that 0.8 - 0.9 X Zoom (on GameChanger app) is best for most fields. You want to make sure that you can see both 1st and 3rd base. You can slide your phone left or right in the holder to make sure that the fence is not visible by the camera. After the view looks good, then move it to a higher sport behind home plate.
UPDATE: To hang Cool Fence Cam, push up and then pull down.
4. High Position. Fully extend the Cool Fence Cam telescoping pole and then hang it about as high as you can reach! This gives the best view of both home plate and the outfield. Notice that the fence cleat has two hooks on it... so, you need to push up to get the top hook behind the fence, then down to get the bottom hook behind the fence.
IMPORTANT! After you hang the cleat (hook) on the fence, use the bungee cord to pull down on the pole to secure Cool Fence Cam.
5. Secure. Do NOT hang Cool Fence Cam on a "loose" part of the fence, away from fence poles or posts. You should hang it near a pole or post, where the chain link fence will not move much if the ball hits (like a trampoline). Pull down on the bungee cord to make sure the phone is not angled and that the hook is secured on the fence.
UPDATES:
1. IMPORTANT! After you hang the cleat (hook) on the fence, use the bungee cord to pull down on the pole to secure Cool Fence Cam.
2. I have started including a small wrench inside the box. This can be used just in case the nut holding the pole becomes loose.
3. The picture below shows what the inside of the setup should look like:
